Welsh Junior Squad
The Welsh Junior Squad offers dedicated training and competitive opportunities for young orienteers looking to develop their skills and represent Wales at a national level.
- Training Sessions: The squad meets regularly throughout the year for training sessions led by experienced coaches. These sessions focus on improving technical skills, physical fitness, and mental strategies for orienteering success.
- Summer Tour: Every other year, the squad embarks on an exciting summer tour, usually to Scandinavia. This tour provides invaluable experience competing against top international juniors and exploring new terrains.
- Key Competitions: The Welsh Junior Squad competes in two major events:
- The Junior Home Internationals, where they represent Wales against teams from England, Scotland, and Ireland.
- The Junior Inter-Regional Championships, pitting them against the best young orienteers from other regions across the UK.
